Enrollment Process for 2025-2026

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are due by March 5, 2025 at 5:00pm PST.

We use a lottery system to determine enrollment, with returning families having first priority. Families who apply by March 5, 2025 will receive their lottery result and class or waitlist position by March 12, 2025

Applications received after March 5, 2025 will be processed on a first come, first served basis, with enrollment status subject to the lottery results, including waitlists.

Please email our Enrollment Team at enrollment@rainiervalleycooppreschool.org with any questions about the enrollment process, scholarships, or our preschool.

Step 1. Submit Your Application

To apply for enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, please complete an online application by the March 5, 2025 deadline.

All applications received by the registration deadline will be entered into a lottery system (random drawing). The lottery occurs in rounds, in the following order:

Within each round, families will be selected based on lottery number, subject to any age requirements and class priorities. Those not initially admitted will be placed on a waitlist for the class(es) for which they applied.

New openings will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis after the March 5, 2025 application deadline.

Step 2. Notification of Enrollment or Waitlist Status

You will be notified of your enrollment status, either with a class assignment or a position on the waitlist by March 12, 2025

As class openings become available our Enrollment Coordinator will contact families on the waitlist. Our waitlists can change very quickly. You have 48 hours to respond to our Enrollment Coordinator once you have been notified via email and phone regarding a class assignment.

Step 3. Secure Your Spot

For new families, your non-refundable tuition deposit is due within two weeks of acceptance, or April 15, 2025 (whichever is sooner) to hold your spot. For returning families, your nonrefundable tuition deposit is due June 1, 2025.

If your deposit is not received by these deadlines, you will forfeit your space at RVCP and we will offer it to a family on the waitlist. Your deposit will serve as your June 2026 tuition payment, and can only be applied to an earlier month if you withdraw from the school before May 1, 2026, with at least 30 days notice.

Enrollment is not restricted, assigned, or adjusted according to race, religion, gender expression or gender identity, sexual preference, ethnicity, or national origin.*We are piloting a defined preference category for the 2025-26 enrollment lottery to increase access and diversity at RVCP.

Sliding Scale Tuition

Why RVCP Offers a Sliding Scale Tuition Model

Our sliding scale tuition model reflects our deep commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

We recognize that our school is part of an economically diverse community and understand that systemic racism and economic inequities disproportionately affect Black and brown families. We believe that economic inequity should not keep the high-quality, social emotional curriculum our school provides out of reach.

How Sliding Scale Tuition Works

Your tuition tier information will be kept strictly confidential.

Learn more about our the sliding scale tables and the corresponding income tiers on our Tuition & Scholarships Page.

Financial Scholarships

Our school welcomes scholarship applications from all families – we encourage you to apply! We are affiliated with North Seattle College (NSC) Cooperative Preschools, and use their scholarship fund to provide additional assistance for our families. You may qualify for as much as 75% of the tuition being covered if your income is below the federal poverty guidelines, and up to 5% for those who are closer to 400% of the poverty level.

You can visit the NSC Cooperative Preschool's website for more details regarding their financial scholarship process. All scholarship applications are kept strictly confidential. To apply for a financial scholarship, please fill out the NSC scholarship application.

We recognize that families may need extra support beyond NSC scholarships. To help, RVCP provides additional scholarships through a straightforward and confidential process. For more information, please reach out to us at scholarships@rainiervalleycooppreschool.org.

from our parents

"After another sleepless night when Gus was a baby, I was dropping Sam off at preschool. As a Sunflower Sam was very shy and didn't want to go into school. It took a lot of coaxing him through the door and waiting. I was caught between wanting to be a supportive mom and just getting Sam into school. After we watched a couple kids walk in and start playing immediately, I was starting to lose my patience. A teacher looked at me and gave me a smile and reminded me to breathe. That was when it hit me that coop preschool was not only going to be good for my kids but for me too. We both had a refuge and a great education at RVCP."-Lisa Schaible
